There's more than one in California - and those are only the main ones you mentioned. There are active faults all over the world, most of them are fairly minor though.

There are tons of fault lines, there aren't nearly as many that are active though. Only the active ones cause earthquakes, the others just sit there.

Well, it doubles strength each number it goes up. So 2 is 2x a 1, 3 is 2x a 2 (and 4x a 1) so a 7 is 8x a 4.

custody issues. Closest place with real job opportunities is more than 3 hours away. Custody makes that really difficult.

I've felt a bit of things for earthquakes, tons of them happen in California, but I'm pretty far from most of em.

Yep... there was a 7.1 earthquake down in New Zealand.. Our own Dr. Apricot lives down in New Zealand, but it looks like a good 400miles away directly. He still probably felt it.

None reported dead from it, so I guess it wasn't all too bad!

The closest places like that are over an hour away - at that point the commute isn't worth it. I live in BFE in the mountains... not much nearby.

Yea, but I had to go to court for that. Now there are limits on where we move and everything.
